Looking back

Wow, what a month it’s been!

Denver never disappoints and it is always great to see the local Caps fans turn out en masse.  It’s been much too long.

Utah was very interesting and Delta Center is cavernous!  Even the mountain goats in the nosebleeds hold on to the railing. The local fans were more passionate than expected with many already holding allegiance to the Golden Knights.

Our reps tell us the building will be hockey-ready in about three seasons and we had such a great time, you can bet we’ll be back.

The Red, White, and Blue cheering on our respective teams with the Bleu, Blanc et rouge.  Bell Centre is a hockey mecca and we’ll take every opportunity to see our boys on that ice.

The Caps have treated our Roadies to great games and big wins at every destination. Here’s to continuing that streak in Detroit and Columbus!

Last call for SLC, Montreal!

Our trip schedule starts in ernest this month and while several of our trips this seoson have filled, Utah and Montreal still have space available. There will never be another chance to get into Utah for $55 and for Montreal, The Bell Centre speaks for itself.

Here’s the scoop on each trip with details available on our site:

Fri, Nov 15 – Colorado  sold out, no waitlist; plenty of seats via TicketMaster remain

Mon, Nov 18 – Utah lower bowl obstructed view seats, $55

Sat, Dec 7- Montreal  lower bowl seats all together, $200; only 10 remain

Sun, Dec 29 – Detroit  lower bowl seats all together, $125; only a pair remain

Sat, April 12 – Columbus lower bowl seats all together, $125; sold out, waitlist available

If you have reached out to us by email, you are among those counted as reserved. If you are at all uncertain if you have an existing reservation, please don’t hesitate to check in at info@capsroadcrew.com.

Keep your contact info current

Once the details of our trip schedule are finalized, some will sell out quickly (Toronto, Montreal, etc.) as  ticket availability may be limited. To get the info first, be sure to keep your contact information up-to-date in our database. You can always use the tool on our homepage to add an extra email address but if you would prefer to substitute one instead, we are happy to process that from our end.  Just let us know.

Also, we keep a list of Caps fans in enemy territory so if you live outside the DMV and want to be sure to be included on our activities in your area, shoot me an email with your zip code and I’ll update our records. We love getting together with our fellow fans near and far!

GO CAPS!

Celebrate with us!

Keep the weekend rolling and join the festivities on Monday, July 1 when we’ll be toasting our neighbors to the north! PQST is cooking up their Embassy-approved poutine and the Crew is pitching in with the requisite butter tarts and Nanaimo bars for the occasion.

They open at 11:30 and we’ll be there all day so pop by for a bite and a Canadian beer and say hey, eh!

2004 Draft Revisited

Twenty years ago, the Caps Road Crew boarded the buses and traveled to Raleigh for what was one of the most important drafts in Caps history.

From the excitement of the Draft floor to the post-Draft party with the front office and players, your fellow Roadies have some great memories of the day and several have shared them with us via the Your Trips section of our site. It has been a blast reading through them and I hope you enjoy them too.

An engaging documentary of the day was made by James Williams/BurningToast.com and can be found with the photos from the day on  the photo page from this trip.  Many thanks to James and all our fellow Roadies who contributed to this project.

Woo Bears!

Congratulations to the 2024 Calder Cup Champion Hershey Bears on back-to-back titles!  Giant Center has the best fans and atmosphere in the AHL and is a great time for anyone able to make the trip.

Offseason Homework

Once news of our trip schedule is released next month, some will sell out quickly as fans are eager to travel and ticket availability may be limited. To get the info first, be sure to keep your contact information up-to-date in our database. You can always use the tool on our homepage to add an extra email address (or five) but if you would prefer to substitute one instead, we are happy to process that from our end.  Just let us know.

Also, we keep a list of Caps fans in enemy territory so if you live outside the DMV and want to be sure to be included on our activities in your area, shoot me an email with your zip code and I’ll update our records. We love getting together with our fellow fans near and far!

Hope to see you all in next week!

2024 is off to a great start!

In a little more than two weeks on February 10, the Caps are traveling to Boston to take on the Bruins. It’s their 100th Anniversary and a tough ticket to get even in a non-centennial year. So instead we’re gathering upstairs at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern, our DC home, beginning at 1pm to settle in for the 3:30 drop of the puck.

There is plenty of space and everyone can join in the raffle for door prizes, but if you email me at info@capsroadcrew.com with an estimate of how many are in your party, you and your pals will get an extra raffle ticket.

The wings are hot and the beer is cold and with their signature Old Man Stilwell’s Chili, there’s no better place to watch the game. Hope to see you all there!

What a road swing!

The photos from the west coast Caps games will be up on the site soon (anyone have a spare intern), but wow, what an epic time!  So many great fans made the trek from near and far for the games in San Jose, LA, and Anaheim but the game at Mullet Arena in Tempe was the most popular of the week. Catching an NHL game in such an intimate setting is a unique opportunity and one I encourage fans to check out while the Coyotes are still playing there.

Puck drops this month!!

GO CAPS!

It’s almost Canada Day Babes!

Celebrate with us!

Start the holiday weekend early and join the festivities on Saturday, July 1 when we’ll be toasting our neighbors to the north! PQST is sure to do it up with their pals over at the Canadian Embassy (details to come) and the Crew is pitching in with the requisite butter tarts and Nanaimo bars for the occasion. They open at 11:30 and we’ll be there all day so pop by for a bite and a beer and say hey, eh!

Congratulations Vegas!

Hats off to the Golden Knights on winning their first Cup!  There’s nothing like winning it IN Vegas (wink, wink) and I expect to see crazy vid from the celebrations.

The team, the fans, and the city could not have been cooler when our Caps won as the Crew heard from so many of the fine folks we met when we visited earlier that season. It was even more impressive since we bested them to do so. There are not many fanbases that display that much class.

Enjoy the ride VGK!

Offseason Homework

The past few seasons has seen a TON of people relocating to parts far and wide. We keep a list of Caps fans in enemy territory so if you live outside the DMV and want to be sure to be included on our activities in your area, shoot me an email with your zip code and I’ll update our records.

I expect that many of our trips this season will again be  geared towards those Caps fans local to the venue so keeping this list current is more valuable than ever. We love seeing our fellow fans on the road!

Hope to see you all on 7/1!

End of Season News

Go Caps!

This season was a real rollercoaster and it is sad to see it end so soon. May the players and personnel enjoy a well-earned summer break to refuel the tank for next season.

We’ll use the coming weeks to catch up on offseason business and then get back at it planning next season’s schedule. Stay tuned for details!

Offseason Homework

We keep a list of Caps fans in enemy territory so if you live outside the DMV and want to be sure to be included on our activities in your area, shoot me an email with your zip code and I’ll update our records.

With travel more reliable than in recent years, we’re eager to head back to Canada and the Western Conference next season, game schedule permitting. It is always a treat to join those Caps fans local to the venue so keeping this list current is a win for all.

Summer Fun!

With the jerseys packed up for the season, it will be great to catch everyone in their Caps tees enjoying the summer!  We hope to see you representing in the Beer Garden at PQST and when the frozen drinks are this good, why wouldn’t you?

Have a great summer!

Feb News-Stadium Series viewing party, NYI in March

Caps vs Canes, outdoors!

In a little more than two weeks on February 18, the Caps are traveling to Raleigh to take on the Hurricanes at Carter-Finley Stadium. It should be a great time and no one tailgates like the Caniacs. But if you’re not going, no FOMO for you. We’re having our own party back in DC!

We’re gathering upstairs at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern, our DC home, beginning at 6pm to take in the action on their wall-to-wall HD TVs. There is plenty of space and everyone can join in the raffle for door prizes, but if you email me at info@capsroadcrew.com with an estimate of how many are in your party, all your pals will get an extra raffle ticket. We’ve acquired some interesting swag during the Pause and are eager to move it from our home to yours.

The fans in Raleigh may have a good time at their fanfest, but they won’t have Old Man Stilwell’s Chili, amazing Smashburgers, or hot, crispy wings while watching the game.  Hope to see you all there!

Caps @ NYI, March 11

This is the only remaining trip on our schedule, at the almost brand new UBS Arena on Long Island.  We are down to our last few seats, in Section 118 for $110 so get in touch asap via email at info@capsroadcrew.com if you are at all interested or need more information.
