Here's how you can plan your own trip!

| |
| How do I get
tickets? |
| It's the land of hockey,
but despite their recent appearance in the Eastern Conference
Finals, and their growing popularity in the capital of Canada,
tickets are not impossible to come by. Tickets are pretty much
readily available, though for rival games (i.e. against Toronto)
it could get tough. If you want the good seats, though, it's
better to get your tickets early! |
- Individual ticket sales- TicketMaster
Online or Ticketmaster Phone Charge at 1-613-755-1166
- Group
ticket sales- Call 1-800-444-SENS or email group@ottawasenators.com.
- Group tickets are available
for groups of 20 or more people.
- View Ottawa Senators ticket
prices and seating chart.
- Is the game completely sold out?
Try the internet, starting on eBay,
or contact RoadTrips
to inquire about ticket availability! Last resort? Often
tickets held for promotional, marketing and other reasons
are released within a day or two of the event. Try going
back to TicketMaster the week of, day before or day of the
game!

| Where can I stay? |
| Best way to get affordable
accommodations in Ottawa? Priceline
lets you name your price and finds you a good hotel for a good
price. Downsides to Priceline include usually not being able
to make special requests such as a room with two beds and not
knowing how close to the attractions you'll be. |

| Where can I eat
and what else is there to do and see? |
|
Where to eat? If
you are staying in Downtown Ottawa, you must visit the ByWard
Market. The Market is exactly the kind of marketplace
you'd expect to find in Europe. In particular, le Moulin de
Provence (55 ByWard Market Square, 613-241-9152) is a must
visit with exquisite pastries, bread, sandwiches, fruits and
salads. Make sure you prepare for a stop at the grocery store
to pick up some Tupperware, you will be bringing something
home! Also in the Market, dining favorites include the Empire
Grill (47 Clarence Street, 613-241-1343), offering "New
American" cuisine - an eclectic array of dishes inspired by
the diverse cultures which comprises the "American Melting
Pot" - pizzas, pastas and grill items reflect Mediterranean,
Mexican, Italian, Thai and Indian influences. Zak's
Diner gives you an authentic 50's style diner experience
while the Hard Rock Café (73 York Street, 613-241-2442) offers
standard fare. Outside of the Market, other favorites include
Capones (2369 Carling Ave., 613-828-8366), an Italian Restaurant
in the city's West End frequented by many on the Senators
roster. Hy's Steak House (170 Queen St., 613-234-4545) is
also known for its good food and service. On your way to the
arena, check out Don
Cherry's Restaurant (117 Centrepointe Drive, Nepean, 613-226-6647).
One of the Don Cherry's chain, this location is owned and
operated by Dan Cowley, son of Bruins great Bill Cowley and
captures the perfect mix of great hockey & food! How could
you pass up a chance to visit the restaurant bearing the name
of the legendary coach and focus of Hockey Night In Canada's
Coaches Corner? Tell 'em Grapes sent ya! While the arena is
a ways outside of Downtown Ottawa, the arena offers several
restaurant
choices on game night! Whether it's Frank Finnegan's (613-599-0234,
no reservations accepted), Marshy's BBQ & Grill (613-599-0282)
or one of the other restaurants, it's a convenient way to
eat and have a drink before the game. Avoid traffic by getting
there early and enjoy!

| What to do? After
you've explored the ByWard Market, you'll still find there's
plenty to do in the downtown area! In winter, Ottawa's most
famous attraction is the Rideau Canal. The Rideau Canal is a
202-km historic waterway. A 19th century engineering marvel,
it was built to help defend the nation. Each of the 24 lock
stations between Ottawa and Kingston has a distinct character.
When it's frozen, strap on your skates and skate the Canal!
Occasionally you'll find the Senators or visiting teams with
a day off on the canal. Next door, the Rideau Centre (50 Rideau
Street, 613-236-6565) is downtown's largest indoor mall featuring
your typical mall shopping (at Canadian prices!). Check the
schedules to find out if the local junior teams, the Ottawa
'67s (Civic Centre on Bank Street) and the Hull
Olympiques (Robert Guertin Arena, across the river from
Ottawa in Hull, Quebec). To get some culture, check out the
National Arts Centre (55 Elgin St., 613-232-5713), Ottawa's
high-culture mecca and the Canada and the World Pavilion (90
Wellington Street, 613- 239-5000), which promotes the contributions
of hundreds of Canadians who have distinguished themselves on
the international stage with high-tech, cutting-edge exhibits,
interactive programs and special activities. |

| Postgame festivities?
Looking for a good time after the game? Try the CapsRoadCrew
downtown favorite, the Honest Lawyer (141 George Street, 613-562-2262),
a trendy sports bar frequented by many of the local Senators
fans featuring a tremendous selection of beverages and great
food at a good price! Play pool, air hockey or other games while
you take in sports on the many TVs in the bar. Also, check out
the Bytown Tavern (292 Elgin Street, 613-233-0057), a great
little pub that's always bustling with activity. There's always
a lot going on in the Market, walk around and you're bound to
find something up your alley! If you are looking for something
close to Corel Centre for postgame festivities, your best bet
is sticking with Frank Finnegan's or Marshy's at the arena,
though it can get awful crowded after the weekend games. Don
Cherry's is another great postgame option about 15 minutes from
the arena. |
